When Zach and Behida approached me about organizing a show my first thought was my community. I reached out to my friends and family, the artists that make up my orbit. The artists in this show are working artists, everyday they get up in the morning and plan their day with making in mind. Some of these artists I’ve known for over 35 years. Some of the artists are just beginning their career, like my daughter Violet and her classmate Kat, others have been making art for over 60 years! The criteria was simple, select artists whose work I love and respect and whose practice is like mine, they have no choice but to create. There was no theme to this exhibition, no overriding message but merley a collection of things that represent their ideas, styles and approaches. The age range is from 22 to 82 years old. This exhibition represents relationships, our bond as makers is the foundation that is the true definition of an artists community.
